Getting There:

For US flights, you will fly to Honolulu, and on to Majuro (MAJ), Marshall Islands. United (formerly Continental) is the only airline to get you from Honolulu to Majuro. During the Winter, flights can be extremely cheap to Hawaii, the flight from Honolulu to Majuro can be booked with miles as well.

You will stay in Honolulu for the night, and most flights leave early in the morning, arriving mid morning in Majuro the next day (you cross the dateline). You will get your entry visa,  collect your bags and our staff will meet you at the Majuro airport.

Once in Majuro, our staff will meet you and coordinate the next leg of your trip. As of 2016, Indies Trader will be flying a private plane from Majuro to the outer islands every Friday.  This will generally mean an overnight in Majuro Thur – Fri, at Hotel Robert Reimers.  We will coordinate booking and transport for your overnight.  If there is availability on Beran on Thur – Fri, you may have the option to book one more night at Beran and fly out Thursday afternoon.

Remember that you cross the dateline both ways from Hawaii to Majuro so you gain a day. The HNL – MAJ flight leaves Mon, Wed, Fri, so generally you will have to leave the day before that (Sun, Tue, Thursday) from LAX or SFO to make the connection.

Once in Majuro, our staff will meet you and coordinate the next leg of your trip.

The small plane will disembark and our staff will greet you and get your bags. Our boat will be waiting and we will get you onboard. There will be a quick boat ride over to Beran Island, and you will be surfing within the hour if all goes as planned!

Once you have confirmed your stay at Beran Island Resort we will make your inter-atoll (Majuro – Ailinglaplap) flight booking for you with Air Marshall Islands. Air Marshall Islands do not have online booking facilities and our local office in Majuro is setup to coordinate with Air Marshall Islands much more efficiently that contacting them directly.  Once the booking is done we will let you know how to make payment. Fare from Majuro to Outer Islands is US$320 round trip. We will work with your group on a case by case basis to ensure all your equipment arrives on time and all travel details within the Marshall Islands are taken care of. If you have questions regarding Air Marshall Islands, Please Contact Us.

Air Marshall Islands flies two small aircraft, a Dornier-223 and a Dash-8 under FAA Regulation. Air Marshall is run by government and government employees, therefore can be relatively slow. Aircraft are relatively small and is not always possible to get all your surf / SUPs on board. The larger aircraft can do this. Overweight charges may be applicable at the airport in Majuro @ US$1.10 per pound.  Each passenger has a 30lb allowance.  We will need advance notice of how many surfboards you and your group will be travelling with to arrange cargo space.
